Storms will pound Hillsborough, Pinellas and Polk counties through the evening

Tropical moisture has begun to stream back into the Bay area ahead of a trough that is moving northward.

Heavy rain will accompany some of the storms along with frequent lightning. 1-2 inches of rain is possible in some areas.

The storms should begin to diminish by late evening.
